REALGESSO Real Linen
These linen panels are a great alternative to canvas mounted on the conventional stretcher-frame. This handcrafted art panel is made with high quality Belgian linen adhered to a dimensionally stable 1/4" premium hardboard. The linen is then sized with rabbit-skin glue, cured, and finish-coated with a specially formulated titanium primer..
REALGESSO Cradles
Our precision engineered "floating" cradle design provides the perfect support for both the Realgesso and Reallinen art panels. Using precise joinery and a unique method for adhering, these cradles prevents them from "telegraphing" their shape through the panel.

REALGESSO ABS
ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) is a durable, dimensionally stable, and lightweight material that is an ideal ground/support combination for oils and acrylics. Upon receiving countless requests for information regarding this material, we decided to research and test its compatibility with various paints and mediums. After years of exhaustive study, we believe that we've found the perfect combination of dimensional stability, adhesion, and size to weight ratio. Keeping with our philosophy of manufacturing ready to paint surfaces, our prepared ABS panels are mildly absorbant and require absolutely no primer, making them ready to be placed on your easel straight out of the wrapper. As the ABS is highly water resistant, it is possible to wet-sand your painting in between coats with no damage to the substrate.
ABS is a terpolymer made by polymerizing styrene and acrylonitrile in the presence of polybutadiene. The resulting lattice of polybutadiene and styrene-co-acrylonitrile allow the neighboring nitirile groups to form a polar bond that holds the chains tightly together, forming a stronger substance than pure polystyrene. ABS is known as a thermoplastic and is often used to make molded products that need to be both lightweight and durable.
